Full disclosure before anything else: AirFit — one of the tools below — is ours. We're writing the guide we wish existed when we researched this market, which means telling you when a competitor is the better pick. Competitor details come from their published pricing and feature pages as of August 2026; plans change, so verify before you buy.
How to actually choose
Feature checklists all blur together, so ask three questions instead:
- What's the cost at YOUR roster, fully loaded? Not the entry price — your client count, plus every add-on you'd actually need. This is where the tools differ most.
- What does your client see? They live in this software more than you do. Whose brand is on it, how many taps to today's workout, does it need an app install?
- Which workflow is your business? Pure program delivery, or programs plus scheduling, leads, payments and a public presence? Buying broader than your need is clutter; narrower is a second subscription later.
Trainerize — the ecosystem
The biggest name in the space, and the most complete ecosystem: native client apps, habit coaching, an AI workout builder, meal tracking, and integrations in every direction. The trade is the pricing model — plans scale with client count (from free for 1 client through a Pro tier priced by roster to Studio plans from $248/mo), and meaningful capabilities are add-ons: advanced nutrition at $20–45/mo, payments at $10/mo, the branded app at $169 one-time. It's the right choice for coaches who'll genuinely use the ecosystem's breadth and don't mind the meter. Our detailed AirFit vs Trainerize breakdown runs the numbers.
TrueCoach — program delivery, perfected
TrueCoach does one workflow — write, deliver, review programs — with real polish, a 3,000+ exercise video library, and integrations that matter to data-driven coaches: Apple Watch, Garmin, WHOOP, MyFitnessPal, Zapier. Payments are included. The trade is roster-cap pricing ($29.98/mo to 5 clients, $69.98 to 20, $164.98 to 50 on monthly billing) and a narrower scope — scheduling, lead capture and multi-trainer gyms aren't the product. Best for established 1-on-1 coaches whose service runs on wearables data. Details in AirFit vs TrueCoach.
AirFit — the branded practice (that's us)
AirFit's bet is that a coaching practice is one thing, not five subscriptions: programs with demo videos, meal plans with an AI meal planner, session booking with automatic reminders, check-ins, progress photos, lead capture, and a public trainer page with a directory listing — under your brand, with gyms getting their own subdomain. Pricing is three flat tiers with everything included at each: free to 5 clients, $29/mo to 25, $59/mo unlimited. Clients have native iOS and Android apps for workouts, food logging, check-ins and progress, plus web access with the same account. Session packs and coaching subscriptions through Stripe are included. Gym branding appears inside the shared AirFit app and on your web subdomain. The main gap is integrations: if your coaching depends on wearables, MyFitnessPal sync or Zapier, check those requirements before switching.
The rest of the field
Everfit earns its own line now that we've verified it (September 2026): a forever-free Starter plan for five clients, with intake forms, habit coaching, meal plans and custom branding held back for the Pro tier, and nutrition, payments and automation sold as add-ons above that. Our AirFit vs Everfit breakdown runs the numbers. Worth your research time depending on your niche: My PT Hub (a broad Trainerize-style platform), PT Distinction (deep assessment and onboarding tooling), and QuickCoach (free, minimal program delivery). We haven't verified their current pricing the way we have the three above, so we'll spare you secondhand numbers.
The decision framework
- Under 3 clients or just starting: use a free tier — ours or anyone's — and spend the money on getting clients instead. Our guide to your first 10 clients is where that budget goes.
- Data-driven 1-on-1 coach, wearables central: TrueCoach, and accept the roster tiers as the price of the integrations.
- Want broad integrations and group challenges: Trainerize, and budget the add-ons honestly before comparing stickers.
- Building a branded practice or studio, flat price: that's the customer we built AirFit for.
Whatever you shortlist: run one real client through it for two weeks. Every platform demos well; only coaching reveals the tool. And price the decision against your actual business — our income calculator puts software cost in context fast: the difference between any two of these tools is usually less than the value of one month of improved client retention.
